1. About YearsIn

YearsIn lets people show the gear they own and report how it holds up over time. These terms apply to everyone who uses the website. The operator is listed in the legal notice. Using YearsIn is free.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• One account per person. Keep your password safe; you are responsible for your account.
• Your username must not impersonate someone else or a brand.

3. Honest reports

The value of YearsIn depends on honest data. When you add gear or a check-in, you confirm that:

• you own or owned the item yourself, and the dates are correct to the best of your knowledge;
• your timestamp photo is your own, recent and shows the item you report;
• your reports reflect your own experience.

You must not post reports on behalf of a brand or shop, accept money or free products in exchange for reports without saying so in your note, or try to manipulate scores.

4. Content rules

Don't post content that is unlawful, infringes the rights of others, or shows:

• other people's faces or personal details without their consent;
• items that are illegal to own where you live;
• spam, advertising or links to sell things.

We may remove content, reject photos or suspend accounts that break these rules. We tell you why when we do, unless the law prevents it. You can reply to our decision by email.

5. Rights to your content

You keep the rights to your photos and texts. So that we can run YearsIn, you grant us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, display and reproduce them on YearsIn and in its sharing features for as long as they are on YearsIn.

You also agree that we may combine your reports with those of other owners into anonymous statistics and scores, and publish, share or license these statistics, including commercially. Anonymous statistics don't identify you and may be kept after you delete your content or account.

6. Scores and independence

YearsIn Scores are calculated from owner reports as described in How we score. They describe past experiences of owners, not a guarantee about any individual product. Brands cannot pay to change, hide or remove a score or a report.

7. Shop links

Some links to shops are affiliate links; we may earn a commission when you buy. Purchases are made with the shop, not with us, and the shop's terms apply.

8. Liability

We provide YearsIn with care but can't guarantee that it is always available or that member reports are correct. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. Otherwise our liability is limited to foreseeable damage typical for this kind of free service. Mandatory consumer protection laws remain unaffected.

9. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time under My gear. We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

10. Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms. For important changes we will tell you by email at least 30 days in advance. Czech law applies; if you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in. Questions: hello@yearsin.com.
